When it comes to SCUBA tanks and keeping them free of corrosion the most important step is to quicken the drying process fter cleaning the inside of a tank. So after tumble washing a SCUBA tank use a product specifically designed to coat the inside of your tank to prevent flash rust during the drying process. There are also products designed to clean SCUBA tanks and next time you have your tank tuble washed ask the service provider if they use any special products.

Some reasons you may be having corrosion problems:
Moisture Laden Air from a compressor
Flash rust from slow dry
Not blowing clear the valve orifice before a refill
Tanks filled in a water bath
Use clean SCUBA air to dry a tank after tumble washing the inside
Filling tanks on a boat
Most of those reasons cause rust because they leave opportunity for a little water to get inside your tank.
