Your Anchor Can't Hold You In Place if it is Rusted!

 

Your anchor can be one of the most important safety items on you boat, it may help to keep you in place, help pull you off a reef or makes sure your boat stays pointed in the right direction when moored during a storm or gale.

Make sure that the shackles that hold your anchor to your line or chain is well lubricated, if you have a mechanical type of anchor, make sure that all moving parts are free to move and are not rusty. When not in use for an extended period, spray it well with an anticorrosive product.

If you take it off your boat for storage place it on a plank of wood after washing it down with fresh water and allow it to dry. Spray it well and keep in an enclosed area.
