The Battery Needs Extra Attention

 

A boats battery is usually designed to take a beating, buy a well sealed, high cranking marine battery.
Boat designers don’t always locate the battery in the best possible location in the engine or bilge compartment.
Wherever it is located make sure you can reach it easily, can take it in and out without hurting yourself or the battery and that it is kept clear of any moving parts where it is located.
Most boat batteries have a separate on-off switch this ensures you don’t draw the battery down when not in use. Make sure the connections between this switch and the battery are always kept as dry as possible and do not come in contact with the battery terminals.
Again, keep it dry, spray it with anti-corrosive product, make sure all of the battery connections are clean and in good condition and maintain it at all times.
