Don't Forget the Instruments On and Under Your Dash
Any boat that is operated from a helm has instruments, a compass, fuel gauge, trim indicator, etc. Whether it is located inside the boat or outside you must maintain a close check annually of the condition of the instruments and their connections.
Get under the instrument panel, look for the obvious signs of corrosions, and make sure all of the connections are clean, clear of any corrosion build up or rust. Don’t be afraid to spray away with the right electrical anti corrosive spray product. Make sure everything gets well covered and that all of the connections look good and clean. If some or any of your instruments aren’t working correctly, disconnect them, look them over, clean all of the connections, spray, and reattach.
If they are still not working explore the engine connections that the instrument applies too. You may find that is where the problem is.
Your boat instruments ensure your safety while you enjoy your boat, keep them in good shape and they will offer you many hours of on water enjoyment.
