Keep Your Engine Corrosion Free
To keep your engine in pristine condition is quite easy if you pay it a little attention.
When you engine is not being used is when it is at its most vulnerable. There are many different opinions on what to do with your engine while your RV is in storage. Many people say to ‘exercise’ it once a month, take it out on the road for a bit and drive around. Some people say it should be fine sitting there for the whole time it is in storage if you change your oil before storing it.
The best way to keep your engine free of rust and corrosion is to keep up to date on its maintenance schedule. Check your RV manual for the recommended distance and time between oil changes and other routine maintenance procedure and then write them down on your calendar so as not to forget.
If traveling in the winter rinse of the engine when washing to get rid of any salt residue from the roads.
If traveling near the ocean give your engine a good rinse to get rid of any salt residue from the ocean air.
