Keep Your Plumbing in the Best Condition
Tips to keep your plumbing in best working order
The main difference between your home plumbing and your RV plumbing is that there will be times when you won’t use your RV plumbing for a certain period of time! Unless you’re a full-timer.
Here are some helpful tips…
Winterize, winterize! You can never have enough ‘Pink Stuff’ (Antifreeze) in your pipes! If you know the weather is going to drop, it is best to flush your pipes and poor the pink stuff down. For details on how to winterize your RV, consult your manual.
Before you use your RV for the first time, or if it has been a while since the last use, sanitize your fresh water tank and water lines. Wouldn’t you rather be safe than sorry?
To keep the gasket from drying out in your toilet, keep either water in it during normal use or anti-freeze in it during the winter
Keep in mind things such as the icemaker and washer that may need attention to winterizing their pipes as well.
To help reduce the calcium and lime buildups in your water install a water softener.
