Some Truck Liners can Lead to Problems, While Others Prevent Them
Part of the whole reason of buying a truck is so you can throw everything you own plus the kitchen sink into the bed. And while doing this the last thing you need is to be worrying about scratching the bed and in turn resulting in rust. The best way to prevent rust and damage to your truck bed is to install a liner.
There are two different types of liners. The first and the least expensive is a drop in liner. A liner you buy already made for your truck bed and lay in the bed. These liners have a few drawbacks, such as cracking, warping, leaking and they can fly out of the back of your truck. Also these liners leave space between your truck and liner and in turn can cause rust. What these liners are good for is if you don’t usually use your truck for carting things in the bed, you can buy one of these liners for temporary use.
The other type of liner is spray liner. Spray liner is sprayed into your truck bed so it covers the exact size of your bed and every inch of it. There are two different ways to apply spray liner, cold and hot spray. The best way to apply spray liner is hot spray. Cold spray is outdated and takes longer to dry. Hot spray dries quickly and the end result is stronger and most appealing.
To keep your bed liner looking and performing its best there are a few things you should keep in mind. First treat the bed like any other part of your truck that you clean on a regular basis to keep it well maintained. Next apply a protecting spray a few times a year to help keep it UV resistant and clean
