The Last Thing You Need is a Mildew Smell in Your Seats
The only thing worse than opening your car door and the smell of mildew hitting you, is then having to drive with that smell in your car. It is pretty simple to keep your seats free of mildew. Keep them dry. Don’t leave your windows down when your car will be sitting outside for a while if there is any chance of rain.
If the area you live in is very hot and humid, it is a good idea to crack your windows to let moisture from the humidity escape and not accumulate in your car.
When cleaning your car, after shampooing your seats, make sure they dry completely.
If your seats do get soaked, force dry them with a fan and keep air circulating in the car. If you think your seats may be wet, whatever you do, don’t close up your car and let it sit.
