Help Your Outdoor Furniture Last Longer than a Few Years

There is nothing better than spending a summer taking naps on your favorite deck lounge or spending summer evenings with your family around an outdoor table.  But what could be worse than taking your outdoor furniture out of storage in the spring time and find the legs rusted, or the fabric coming off in pieces.

There are some simple things you can do to avoid this in the future.

First, when buying outdoor furniture ask as many questions as you can about warranty, how weather proof the product is, and the materials the product is made of.
Then look at the environment you live in.  Are you on the ocean?  Lake?  Near a pool?
Will there be debris falling on your furniture from trees if not stored indoors?

To prevent against the downfalls of these environmental conditions there are a few simple steps you can take.
Cover your furniture when not in use with weatherproof and UV resistant covers.
Spray cushions with a mold and mildew repelent
You can spray your furniture with rust proof coatings or UV coatings.
If you live near the ocean, rinse your furniture every week to clean off salt residue.
And lastly, before you store any furniture for the winter, clean it thoroughly, dry it, and cover.
